Joe Mangrum and one of his sand paintings
I was lucky enough to stumble across Brooklyn artist, Joe Mangrum, in Union Square last weekend. He was creating one of his amazing ‘Sand Paintings’. He first started using colored sand as a medium in 2006 and, since 2009, has now made over 500 sand paintings. His work is truly beautiful. I then spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the city taking snaps.
