I came across these bars when I was searching for something to make for my boyfriend’s and mine combined birthday party (we’re two days apart), in addition to the birthday cake. We both love Snickers bars so I jumped on this recipe. It’s super easy to make and if you love gooey, chewy caramel and chocolate, these bars are for you!
Recipe adapted from sallysbakingaddiction.com
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup peanut butter and chocolate morsels (or you can use 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup peanut butter chips)
1 cup chopped Snickers bars
1/2 cup unwrapped Kraft caramels, chopped (or 1/2 cup Kraft Caramel Bits)
3/4 cup dry-roasted peanuts
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9 by 13 inch rectangular baking pan with parchment paper. Spray generously with non-stick spray or grease with butter. Set aside.
2. Mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter together, mixture will be slightly crumbly. Press into pan, going slightly up the sides.
3. Layer peanut butter and chocolate morsels and the next three ingredients (in that order). Pour the condensed milk over, coating evenly.
4. Bake for 35-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Cool completely and then lift the bars out of the pan using the sides of the parchment paper. Store in a container at room temperature for up to 10 days.
