Gelato scooped to form the shape of a rose. I had never seen this until I came to Amorino. And not only does it look beautiful, it tastes phenomenal. This is due in part to their policy of only using organic and natural products. I can’t claim to have ever tried gelato in Italy (I keep coming back to the USA, but definitely one day!), but this gelato really is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Creamy, smooth, with strong, authentic flavors, I was blown away by both the hazelnut and the speculoos gelato. If you’re a fan of the speculoos cookies, then you’re going to fall in love with the gelato. It tastes just like it! For my evening treat (I always have to have something sweet after dinner) I went with the medium size cone ($6.50) and chose Lampone Heritage (raspberry), Cioccolato Amorino (milk chocolate), Speculoos, and Nocciola Tonda e Gentile (hazelnut). Definitely worth putting on your to-try list if you’re in New York City.
