I love brunch, but I hardly ever have it for some reason. I think I will make more of an effort from now on. My friend picked a place in Brooklyn called ‘Vinegar Hill House’ which is situated in a really cute neighborhood. There was nobody on the streets but the restaurant itself was packed. When you step inside it feels cozy and rustic, a bit like a lodge out in the country. I am a huge fan of pancakes and waffles, so when I saw there was a sourdough pancake on the menu it made my choice easy. Instead of a stack of pancakes, you get one really big one, the size of a dinner plate. It was filled with slices of pear and drizzled with maple syrup. I couldn’t fault it at all, it was completely delicious. My friend ordered the eggs benedict with smoked trout and hollandaise sauce. We also shared a small bowl of roasted potatoes and sour cream. Although the food did take a while to come out, I’m glad it was worth the wait and we both left feeling extremely full and happy. Mmm pancakes!
