Veniero’s is a famous landmark here in New York City, having been established in 1894 by its founder Antonio Veniero. Coming up to its 120th year anniversary, Veniero’s is still family-run. The hardest part is choosing which pastry or dessert you want to have. This time I went for the Pistachio Tulip Cup. The dark chocolate tulip cup is filled with pistachio cream on top of layers of vanilla sponge and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Topped off with some whipped cream and a cherry, this dessert is not for the faint-hearted! Even me, who lives for sugar-laden treats, couldn’t finish it in one sitting. It is very, very rich so I suggest sharing it with someone. The true pistachio flavor shines through in this eye-catching dessert.
