Recently I had one of those days where I didn’t eat a lot during the day as we were so busy moving furniture in and out of the house for new carpet, so by the time it was dinner time we were both positively starving and in need of a really good feed. I had read good things about Na Na Thai restaurant in Flatbush so we decided to check it out. For starters we ordered the Money Bags ($8.50), which are a crispy golden wonton filled with minced pork, prawns & vegetables. Delicious! I could have eaten 10 of these. For mains we ordered the Gan Kiew Wan ($20.50) green curry with chicken, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, green beans & capsicum and one of Na Na Thai’s specialties: the Siam Basket ($22.50), with stir fried lamb in a special sauce, onion, carrots, capsicum & water chestnuts served in a kumara (sweet potato) basket. This basket was really the star of the show, it was so crispy and delicious, and what a fun way to serve up a dish! I would definitely recommend this dish and can’t wait to have it again. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the service was very fast. I’m so happy to have a Thai restaurant of this calibre so close to home.
