La Tropezienne, a French bakery in Browns Bay, is hands down my favourite treat spot in Auckland. Not only is everything I’ve tried there delicious and addictive, the prices are not ridiculous. In my opinion, their best sweet treat is the Mille Feuille. If you haven’t tried one of these before, put it on your to do list! Smooth pastry cream sandwiched between layers of puff pastry and topped with a white and milk chocolate icing, these things are to die for. If you head here in the late afternoon you may be lucky to score La Tropezienne’s pastries for half price. Just as well there’s a huge flight of steps that lead to a scenic walkway at the far end of the beach that I can run up and down after all my afternoons of indulging.
