Dim Sum at the Golden Unicorn restaurant
I love Dim Sum (also called Yum Cha). It’s one of my favorite weekend pastimes. I like trying new foods that I’ve never seen before, although within reason. A friend once got me to try cow tendon without telling me what it was. The best way I can describe it is it was like pieces of jelly that don’t require chewing, with a soy sauce for flavor. I’m not in any rush to have that again. After trying a few different Dim Sum restaurants with the expert Sunny (she’s Chinese) we came across the Golden Unicorn and it definitely beats all the others, hands down. The service is very quick (although it’s popular so you may have to wait for a table on weekends), the staff are efficient and most importantly: the food is delicious and never messes with my stomach (I have a sensitive one). My favorite dishes are the roasted pork buns, shrimp dumplings and the Jin Deui (sesame balls). So if you live in NYC or are planning a visit, get down to Golden Unicorn in Chinatown and make your tummy happy!
