For a dumpling with an extra kick, try the Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings ($8) from Grand Sichuan in the East Village. The orange tops of the dumplings is crab roe, which adds a delicious sweetness to the dumplings. If you’re new to soup dumplings, be sure to use the tongs provided to grab the top of the dumpling (which is the strongest part) and place it over a spoon, as you don’t want to lose any of the soup inside.
