Every time I go to Little Bird Unbakery I always have a hard time choosing what to get. The display cabinet of desserts is teeming with beautiful, bright colours and it really is hard to just pick one item. This time I chose the Cookies & Cream Cheesecake ($9) and I’m so happy I did. It consists of a crunchy chocolate base, creamy coconut vanilla filling with chunks of cacao buckwheat biscuit, topped with a slither of raw chocolate, vanilla cream and a mini dehydrated cookie. Wow. If you’re a fan of coconut like I am, you’re going to fall in love with this cheesecake. The coconut isn’t overpowering in any way, but rather adds another layer to the vanilla & chocolate flavours going on. My favourite part of Little Bird’s cheesecakes is the base. It’s made up of ground nuts and seeds and I could seriously eat this all by itself.
My mum chose the Cacao & Raspberry Cheesecake ($10), which is so pretty with it’s swirl of bright red colour. The best thing about Little Bird desserts (besides that incredible flavour!) is they are actually nutritious and good for your body. Free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar and soy, these desserts won’t weigh you down. Desserts you can feel good about eating? Yes please!!
