Motorino serves up Neapolitan-style pizza in both Williamsburg & the East Village, and I had heard the Brussels Sprout pizza ($16) was the one to try. So yesterday for lunch, I split one with a friend. The Brussels Sprout is a white pizza and has fior di latte, garlic, pecorino, smoked pancetta, E.V olive oil & sea salt. Definitely one of the better pizzas I’ve had in the city, with loads of flavor including the crust. This is one of the most important things about pizza: if the dough is not executed correctly, it lets the whole pizza down, no matter how tasty the toppings are. Motorino’s dough is definitely well-executed and light, which you can see from the air bubbles, and it tastes delicious. And FYI: Brussels sprouts are an excellent pizza topping that I wasn’t aware of until yesterday. 🙂
