If you’re ever in New Hampshire make sure to check out Woodstock Station Restaurant, at the Woodstock Inn. We had the pleasure of devouring a huge plate of ribs and mashed potato there our first night, and I checked out the dessert menu even though I was too full to eat anything else. One thing stuck out as unique, something I had to try: the Baked Banana Blast. So, on our last night we headed back there and we were not disappointed. It states on the menu that the Baked Banana Blast won the ‘Best of Chefs’ award and since it is made from scratch, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to prepare from when you order it. My eyes literally widened when the dessert was placed in front of us, as it’s a huge dessert for only $6.99. The banana is encased in puff pastry, which is then baked in the oven and finished with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, strawberries, hot fudge and whipped cream. So decadent! Whoever thought of pairing the banana with puff pastry is a genius in my eyes. So much better than if the banana had been deep-fried. I probably left New Hampshire a couple of pounds heavier, but who cares when the food is that good?!
