Whether you’re after something savoury to eat, or something sweet, Crepes a Go-Go inside Ponsonby Central has you covered. French couple Emmanuelle and Marco arrived in New Zealand in 2009, with the dream to share French street food with kiwis. They started their business as a hole-in-the-wall in Wellington, and after it’s success they then opened a bistro 2 years later in Petone and Crepes a Go-Go in Ponsonby in 2014.
On a particularly busy afternoon, I really craved something sweet to get me through. I ordered the ‘Exotica’ crepe ($9), which has Nutella, banana & coconut. Luckily when I went (around 3pm during the week) there was plenty of space to sit, as I’ve heard it gets very busy at other times. The crepe arrived at the table, served on a wooden board with a pizza cutter. I thought this was a very nice touch! The filling was generous and the crepe itself was light, fluffy & crispy around the edges. Just perfect! I’ll definitely be back to try out a savoury crepe next time.
