Chip NYC opened their first location in Astoria, Queens while I was home in New Zealand. I kept seeing photos and videos of their cookies pop up in my feed constantly, and I couldn’t wait to get back to NYC to try them. Chip NYC offers four flavors that are baked in small batches throughout the day so you know you’re getting a fresh cookie. The flavors are rotated each day, so if you’re after a particular cookie, it’s best to call ahead to make sure they have it that day. Cookies are $3.50 each or buy 5 and get one free. The day I went there, they had S’mores, White Chocolate & Macadamia, Cookies ‘n Cream and Chocolate Walnut. Since I quite often get the Chocolate Walnut from Levain Bakery, I decided to omit that one & go with the other three flavors.
Fresh from the oven and still warm, these cookies really put my day off to a delicious start. In my opinion, the S’mores could have done with more marshmallow throughout the cookie – the marshmallows are only on top. But still, it was very chocolatey and moreish. You can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients used.
The Cookies ‘n Cream was way better than eating an Oreo. So fat and choc full of Oreo goodness.
But my favourite was the White Chocolate & Macadamia. Craggy on the outside, and soft and gooey in the center. This cookie was perfection and fulled to the brim with macadamia nuts. Chip NYC doesn’t skimp on the nuts in this one and I love them for it.
I still need to try the Blueberry Cream Cheese cookie, so I’ll be back for that very soon. Other flavors include Funfetti, Nutella & Sea Salt, Carrot Cake and Oatmeal Cinnamon with Apple Pie filling to name a few.
Keep in mind there’s a $10 card minimum so if you’re only buying one or two cookies, make sure to bring cash.
